The Rebin project was based on finding innovative solutions to make the user experience of recycling easier. It is a stylish and smart bin for recycling in your home. Connected to the smart bin there is an app to track and motivate your process and get educated on where to throw your trash exactly. Rebin is more accessible than other recycling options.

The brief was to develop a concept to the problem statement: How can we design a comfortable tech experience for a user keeping in mind those affected. We wanted to choose a topic that the team felt was meaningful and that’s why we decided to improve the user experience of recycling stations. We conducted primary and secondary research on our target group. Our insights showed us that people wanted to know where to recycle things in their station, they wanted to be motivated to recycle and they wanted convenience. Through conceptualization we came to the conclusion: We were going to create an app and a smart recycling station for people to recycle directly in their home.
